Xao makes chilling club tracks, moving between left-leaning trap sounds and other-worldly grime.

Born in Leeds, hailing from South London. A yellow puffer amongst the heaving dance-floor otherwise dressed in black. Comparably, his music stands out like a glimmering, toothless-goon amongst the dull dregs of temporary VST landscapes. Having headed up our monthly Radar Radio show since March 2016, Astral Black's Xao makes his production debut on the label in the shape of 'Alloys' - 5 cuts frantically flitting between ethereal trap, wig-splitting futurism & back-breaking footwork.

Opening track 'Devylz', which has already received airplay on Rinse FM & NTS sees Xao flip a 36 mafia vocal into a haunting, bass-fuelled ode to Southern rap music. Elsewhere on 'Karrakis', Xao manipulates a Bollywood sample into a frantic footwork rhythm which has found a home in DJ sets form Sim Hutchins & Soda Plains.

Xao dips in and out of tempos, instrumentation and genres with a confident sense of versatility. Xao encapsulates sounds of London fusing it with sounds that have inspired him personally from elsewhere, allowing him to steadily lay his foundations as a producer.
